Did you know that machine guarding is one of the leading causes of serious injuries to workers throughout the United States? Did you know that machine guarding is one of the most commonly issued citations by OSHA? Every year, powered machines and equipment pose one of the most prevalent threats to workers. This course will help develop an understanding of basic machine-guarding principles, navigate through various regulatory and design standards (e.g. OSHA, ANSI, ASME), and strengthen an employers ability to conduct a hazard assessment. This course addresses BOTH General Industry and Construction, and is intended for operators, technicians, maintenance, engineers, managers/supervisors, superintendents, leads/foremen, safety personnel and trainers. Topics include:
- Types of guarding and safety-devices
- General machine-guarding
- Power-transmission
- Woodworking machines
- Abrasive-wheel machinery
- Mills and calenders
Virtual Instructor Led Training Requirements:
Students are required to have video and audio capability and must remain visible to the instructor and facilitator throughout the class. Additionally, students may not use a phone to participate in the training or view the presentation. Students who are unable to meet these requirements will not be permitted to attend
